“I chose to come to Orthopedic and Spine Therapy – Physical Therapy as they had worked with my mother in-law in the past and they did some marvelous work with an 85 year old female patient. In 2024, I had the pleasure of coming down with an episode of PMR (polymyalgia rheumatica) which affected almost of my major joints – knees, hips, shoulders. After a long period of high steroids that have been decreasing over time, I still had some ongoing shoulder issues, hence my referral to OST Physical Therapy.
From day one, my Physical Therapist, Alex Conway was super excited to be working on a plan for our time together. After taking a thorough history of my past medical issues – especially problems with Polymyalgia Rheumatica, he wanted to know what my goals were while working with him. Then came the fun part: Alex really did a total body exam of every major joint area on my body and found so many things that were definitely out of sync with each other.
As a retired health care provider ( RN in ER, CCU, Cath lab), I knew that if one major joint area is off center or not in sync all other areas of the body can be affected. Alex’s clinical knowledge of the human body is truly amazing and his ability to treat a specific area but also every other part of one’s body that is affected by the injured or painful part is an amazing gift that Alex has. The tools in his tool box are unlimited as he will try multiple exercises/stretches to help get one’s body back to normal. His encouragement and positive attitude make me (the patient) want to continue to work hard at home to build upon what we have accomplished and have a more positive long-term outcome.
Alex is a very dedicated, caring, and a truly wonderful therapist who cares deeply for the patients he treats. My time with him has been truly amazing and rewarding. I will be back to see Alex again at some point. I am sure so that we can work together to solve whatever ailment comes my way, because I know there will be something.
