Emily Rice
Physical Therapist, PT, DPT
Emily grew up in Milwaukee, WI, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Carroll University and then went on to complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Concordia University. After graduation, she moved to Madison, WI, where she has experience working in a variety of outpatient settings including pediatric, orthopedic, and pelvic health.
Her expertise includes treating pelvic health conditions for both pediatric and adult. She loves working with both children and women to help them achieve bladder and bowel control, decrease pain, and help improve their function. She has experience working with children ages 4-16 who struggle with bed wetting, constipation, and dysfunctional voiding as well as women’s health conditions including pregnancy and postpartum care, urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and pelvic pain.
She has also completed extensive continuing education courses in Herman and Wallace Pelvic Health courses and Kid’s Bladder and Bowel courses. Emily’s philosophy is to treat each patient by “meeting patients where they are at” as everyone is at different stages in their rehabilitation journey. She takes a patient-centered approach to learn what the patient hopes to achieve through physical therapy and provides them with the tools that can be used beyond their visit. She educates her patients on their bodies and provides strategies to help them feel confident and empowered in their journey.
When Emily isn’t working she enjoys staying active by hiking in the Wisconsin State parks, running, biking, and Crossfit. She likes exploring the state of Wisconsin and finding hidden gems, especially unique coffee shops and small, local businesses.
